New PS3 Portal Beta
Hello gamers, I have come across some interesting news regarding the PS3. Late last night I fired up my PS3 to use the browser (I wanted to look something up but my phone and laptop were both in another room), and right away this screen caught my attention. (On the right)
So I clicked on it and it asked me to fill out a survey in regards to how often I use the web browser on the PS3 (which I do use regularly). The survey itself wasn’t really long, about 5 or 6 questions later I was staring at what appears to be a new portal for the PS3.
The icons at the top, from left to right are: Home, Games, Plus (PlayStation Plus), Movies, Youtube, Facebook & Twitter, PlayStation Network, Accessories, and Blog.
The layout so far seems pretty convenient and more appealing cosmetically. Clicking on Facebook & Twitter opens up the screen below. Facebook and Twitter are juxtaposed right next to each other, which I also think is quite neat as it would make it easier to keep track of both.
Clicking on Blog (pictured below) takes you to a very nice layout for the PlayStation Blog.
Clicking on Learn More for a game or any other links, opens up another web page to the official site of the U.S PlayStation Blog. Switching back to the portal screen from there is just a matter of pressing the L1 button on your controller.
There you have it folks. Please keep in mind that this is a Beta and not the final product. Meaning that some things will get changed, or removed entirely. But one should hope that once they have it all ironed out, that they’ll eventually have something similar on the PS Vita.
